Little Ringed Plover – Chris Ogilvie
The first Whimbrel of their spring migration was on-site today, along Grimmery Bank, while a Little Ringed Plover was by Mother Siller’s Channel. The morning also saw at least 70 Mediterranean Gull pass through; with 5 Wheatear on the Barn Field; 3 Willow Warbler in song about Hengistbury and likewise vocal Blackcap starting to settle in. To finish, a total of 18 Purple Sandpiper spent time on the sandspit and a White-tailed Eagle was on Blackberry Point, early on.
