Firecrest in the New Forest

This particulary confiding bird was photographed from a public road in the Thorney Hill area by Chris Dresh .

A couple of miles further west, this pair of Spotted Fycatcher have a nest in a roadside tree. Both photos are by Olly Frampton , who was careful not to disturb the birds. In fact, given their choice of nest location they must be naturally tolerant of occassional human presence.
