Workshops for 2026

General Information

CHOG workshops are designed to augment the programme of Outdoor meetings. They are for members only and we ask a small fee. The idea is to keep the group small to facilitate as much learning as possible with plenty of time to ask questions and test your knowledge. They are suitable for beginners or those who wish to deepen their knowledge and spotting skills. Organised by Gina Lawrie, they are mostly led by Dave Taylor. You can book available workshops via the CHOG Shop. There will be a pay now button on the booking page for each workshop, this will direct through to PayPal to pay. You can pay using PayPal if you have it, or you can select pay by debit card if you don’t.

Wader Identification Workshop – Normandy Marsh

An outdoor workshop to learn how to identify the winter waders we see in this area. You will learn the key characteristics to identify each species and also hear about their behaviours, where they breed and other fascinating information.

This is a workshop for CHOG members only rather than a guided walk because it will be a small group of up to 12 people with the aim of improving skills of those attending. There will be plenty of opportunity for questions and trying out your new learning. Led by Dave Taylor. Length: approximately 2 hours. Cost: £5.
